Transfield Services has established a joint venture company with Flint Energy Services Ltd in Canada to capture the emerging opportunities in the oil sands industry. The joint venture will be responsible for establishing and acquiring new entities to operate in the asset management related maintenance markets.

In 2007, FT Services, signed an asset management services contract with Suncor Energy Inc. for the provision of asset management services at Suncor’s Fort McMurray, Alberta oil sands operations and its Sarnia, Ontario refinery operation. The five-year rolling contract is valued at Cnd$1 billion in revenue.
