This is achieved through our two key functions within the Human Resources Group – Organisational Development and Employee Relations. The Organisational Development team has a primary focus on talent identification and development, culture and training our people. The Employee Relations team manages recruitment; develops and maintains effective policies and procedures to support business employment practices; and manages workplace and industrial relations.

To support our clients now and as they evolve, a key priority is to ensure that we have the right talent ready for future opportunities. A robust talent identification and succession management process allows for accelerated development opportunities and ensures we can develop and deliver the right people to meet our clients’ needs. We maintain a comprehensive database on the skills and experience of our people, ensuring we have a skilled and dependable workforce to meet our clients’ needs and supplement activities for specialist projects and shutdowns.
EQUIPPING OUR PEOPLE WITH THE RIGHT TOOLS
A performance development review process increases the focus and alignment of our people and provides the support they need to achieve their career goals, our client’s goals and the company’s strategic objectives. The Transfield Services Attributes Framework enables us to align behaviours with the company’s vision and values and. This Framework also provides the foundation and a common link for many of our key people processes and practices.
TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
Transfield Services provides tailored development programs to employees based on specific business and client requirements. We do this through alliances with the University of Ballarat, Competenz and the Centre for Business Solutions. Programs include a Leadership Development Centre, a mentoring program and accredited courses such as a Management Development Program.
Resolve Change Services, part of the Organisational Development team, delivers safety, cultural and leadership development programs to Transfield Services and other companies across Australia and New Zealand. Programs include Leaders of Change and Agents of Change. They engage the commitment of front line supervisors, middle to senior managers and team leaders to expand their leadership skills and further promote a working culture focussed on safety. RCS partners with its clients to ensure the program aligns with the company's objectives and to ensure the participant's successfully reach their learning goals.
