Our Business Relationships

AUSTRALIA

Sydney Water Corporation, New South Wales

Transfield Services provides a 24-hour mechanical, electrical and instrumentation maintenance service and an annual major capital renewals program. We maintain water filtration plants; sewage treatment plants; water and sewage pumping stations; and reservoirs.

The Sydney Catchment Authority, New South Wales

We provide asset maintenance services to water supply infrastructure, supporting facilities and equipment over the five catchment areas in Greater Sydney – Warragamba, Upper Nepean, Blue Mountains, Shoalhaven and Woronora.

Melbourne Water, Victoria

We provide around-the-clock mechanical, electrical and instrumentation maintenance services for sewerage, water, drainage and treatment plant assets, that service more than three million people. Melbourne Water’s assets include water reservoirs, the Eastern and Western sewage treatment plants and more than 1,000 kilometres of pipe infrastructure.

Gippsland Water, Victoria

We manage all property reinstatement works and perform minor capital works, with an emphasis on mechanical and electrical services. We also manage all mechanical and electrical maintenance, property reinstatement works, minor capital works, after-hours plumbing services and customer service enquiries.

Goulburn-Murray Water, Victoria

The FutureFlow alliance of Transfield Services, Goulburn-Murray Water, Sinclair Knight Merz and Comdain delivered $290 million of irrigation upgrades in the Goulburn-Murray Irrigation District for Goulburn-Murray Water through funding from The Living Murray, Water For Rivers and Northern Victoria Irrigation Renewals Project (NVIRP).

The alliance installed 1,516 FlumeGates within one winter works period when the previous largest number in Australia was 271.

The entire project was delivered in 18 months during 2008 and 2009, with the team working along a channel network – that if laid out end-to-end – would run from Sydney to Perth and half way back again. The alliance recently won the Engineers Australia Award in Victoria 2009 for Infrastructure Projects over $20 million and the Australian Water Association Victorian Division’s Infrastructure Innovation Award.

Northern Victoria Irrigation Renewals Project, Victoria

Transfield Services is responsible for the management of the design and delivery of the capital works component for the modernisation and upgrade of new and existing irrigation infrastructure in the Goulburn Murray Irrigation District for the Northern Victoria Irrigation Renewals Project. These works will be carried out across a 64,000 kilometre work area in Northern Victoria, aptly named as the food bowl of Australia. The works program, while delivering a modernised irrigation system, will also benefit irrigation users by providing a high reliable and efficient irrigation system.

LinkWater, Queensland

In an alliance with United Utilities, Transfield Services has a five-year operations and maintenance agreement with LinkWater to provide ready transfer of water throughout south east Queensland. LinkWater is the statutory authority responsible for the bulk transport of potable water throughout south east Queensland.

As part of the alliance, Transfield Services is responsible for operating and maintaining new water grid pipeline assets currently under construction, along with more than 300 kilometres of existing mains and associated works such as pumping stations and potable water reservoirs.

The Gippsland Water Factory, Victoria

We were awarded a contract to design, build and commission an innovative wastewater treatment and recycling facility for Gippsland Water – the Gippsland Water Factory – in December 2005. We will operate the plant for an initial two-year period once it is completed in 2010. When commissioned, the factory will treat up to 35 million litres of domestic and industrial wastewater each day. We are delivering this facility, with alliance partners Gippsland Water, CH2M HILL and Parsons Brinckerhoff.

The Western Corridor Recycled Water Project, Queensland

In alliance with AJ Lucas and McCalls, we are building a 90 kilometre-long section of the eastern pipeline of the Western Corridor Recycled Water Project. The pipeline will carry recycled water from advanced wastewater treatment plants at Luggage Point and Gibson Island to the power stations at Tarong and Swanbank. The project will deliver more than 200 million litres of drinking water a day to consumers in South East Queensland. This is a complex engineering project, as the pipeline will cross the Brisbane River, mangroves, freeways and heavily built-up areas.

The Water Corporation, Western Australia

Transfield Services, in a joint venture with Sinclair Knight Merz (SKM), was awarded the first major bundle of work for The Water Corporation’s Pipelines and Pump Stations (PPS) program in August 2006.

This program consists of around 50 projects a year. Our contract will run over five years with a provision for two extensions of two years. The joint venture, known as the PPS Partnership, will scope, design, construct and commission new pumping stations and water and wastewater pipelines throughout Western Australia.

South East Water, Victoria

We have partnered with AECOM to upgrade three waste-water treatment plants to water recycling plants for South East Water (SE Water). Transfield Services provides sustaining capital works and operations and maintenance services. The recycled water treatment plants are part of SE Water’s program of capital works to meet the Victorian Government’s Central Region Sustainable Water Strategy. The strategy aims at achieving 20 per cent water recycling by 2010.

NEW ZEALAND

We have the expertise and resources to provide water and waste water treatment, plant operations and network maintenance services to water and wastewater networks, and to project manage brownfield sustaining capital works for plant improvements and upgrades.

Transfield Services provides water and wastewater plant operations and network maintenance for the Far North District Council, South Wairarapa District Council, Waiouru Military Camp, RNZAF Base Ohakea and water plant electrical services for Taupo District Council, serving a combined population of more than 40,000 people across the North Island.

Our breadth and depth of skills and experience mean we can manage plants and operations maintenance at all points in the water and waste water supply and treatment process. These include new connections and upgrades to waste water, storm-water and water systems, water and waste water main repairs, maintenance of oxidisation ponds and water races, operation of ultra-filtration plants and potable water networks and providing a 24-hour, 7-day callout service for any emergencies.
