Our Business Relationships

AUSTRALIA

Sydney Water, NSW

Transfield Services provides a 24-hour mechanical, electrical and instrumentation maintenance service and an annual major capital renewals program.

We maintain water filtration plants; sewage treatment plants; water and sewage pumping stations, and reservoirs.

The Sydney Catchment Authority, NSW

We provide asset maintenance services to water supply infrastructure, supporting facilities and equipment over the five catchment areas in Greater Sydney – Warragamba, Upper Nepean, Blue Mountains, Shoalhaven and Woronora.

Melbourne Water, Victoria

We provide around the clock mechanical, electrical and instrumentation maintenance services for sewerage, water, drainage and treatment plant assets, that service more than three million people. Melbourne Water’s assets include water reservoirs, the Eastern and Western sewage treatment plants and more than 1000 kilometres of pipe infrastructure.

Gippsland Water, Victoria

We manage all property reinstatement works and perform minor capital works, with an emphasis on mechanical and electrical services. We also manage all mechanical and electrical maintenance, property reinstatement works, minor capital works, after-hours plumbing services and customer service enquiries.

Goulburn Murray Water

Transfield Services, in an alliance with Comdain and Sinclair Knight Merz (SKM), was awarded a five year contract to survey, design and implement an irrigation system modernisation in Northern Victoria. When complete, the modernisation works will save more than 60,000 megalitres on average each year by upgrading irrigation infrastructure to help reduce water loss through leakage and evaporation. The project is worth $179 million, with initial modernisation works due for completion late 2009.

LinkWater

In an alliance with United Utilities, Transfield Services signed an operations and maintenance agreement with LinkWater to provide ready transfer of water throughout south east Queensland. LinkWater is the statutory authority responsible for the bulk transport of potable water throughout south east Queensland. As part of the alliance, Transfield Services is responsible for operating and maintaining new water grid pipeline assets currently under construction, along with more than 300km of existing mains and associated works such as pumping stations and potable water reservoirs. The contract is worth $15 million a year for five years.

The Gippsland Water Factory, Victoria

We were awarded a contract to design, build and commission an innovative wastewater treatment and recycling facility for Gippsland Water – the Gippsland Water Factory – in December 2005. We will operate the plant for an initial two-year period once it is completed in late 2008. When commissioned, the factory will treat up to 35 million litres of domestic and industrial wastewater each day. We will deliver this facility, with Alliance partners Gippsland Water, CH2M HILL and Parsons Brinckerhoff.

The Western Corridor Recycled Water Project, South East Queensland

In alliance with AJ Lucas and McCalls, we will build a 90 kilometre long section of the eastern pipeline of the Western Corridor Recycled Water Project.

The pipeline will carry recycled water from advanced wastewater treatment plants at Luggage Point and Gibson Island to the power stations at Tarong and Swanbank. The project will deliver more than 200 million litres of drinking water a day to consumers in South East Queensland. This is a complex engineering project, as the pipeline will cross the Brisbane River, mangroves, freeways and heavily built-up areas.

The project is valued at more than $500 million and is scheduled for completion in 2008.

The Water Corporation, Western Australia

Transfield Services, in a joint venture with Sinclair Knight Merz (SKM), was awarded the first major bundle of work for the Water Corporation’s Pipelines and Pump Stations (PPS) program in August 2006. This program consists of around 50 projects a year of varying size and is worth approximately $250 million. It will run over five years with a provision for two extensions of two years. The joint venture, known as the PPS Partnership, will scope, design, construct and commission new pumping stations and water and wastewater pipelines throughout Western Australia.
