Transfield Services’ Canadian joint venture preferred for C$95 million of oil sands contracts

Transfield Services today announced its Canadian joint venture, FT Services, has secured preferred tenderer status for C$95 million of contracts over three years with new client, Nexen Inc.
FT Services will provide electrical and instrumentation services and a portion of mechanical maintenance services at Nexen’s Long Lake facility southeast of Fort McMurray, Alberta.
Transfield Services’ Managing Director and CEO, Dr Peter Goode, said today: “Our asset and maintenance management services and innovative delivery have resulted in cost savings and contributed to record production levels for our clients in the region.”

Long Lake is the first oil sands project in the region to combine advanced technologies that enable the recovery of deep bitumen, with the ability to generate fuel gas and hydrogen on-site to power bitumen recovery and upgrading to yield a premium synthetic crude product.
Since securing its first client in the Canadian oil sands industry in 2007, FT Services has expanded its client base to include four major players in the industry.
Transfield Services has strong opportunities developing in oil and gas and infrastructure sectors, providing continuing diversification for the business.
