Transfield Services awarded new four-year asset management contract with City of Melbourne

Transfield Services has been awarded a new contract to provide integrated asset management and property maintenance services to 190 of the City of Melbourne’s properties until 2014.
Transfield Services will provide a wide range of essential services to iconic buildings, including Australia’s greenest building – CH2 (Council House 2)*, three historic Town Halls, four multi-purpose fitness complexes, Cook’s Cottage in Fitzroy Gardens, as well as child care centres, libraries and art studios.
Transfield Services will use its whole of life asset management system to increase the reliability of City of Melbourne’s assets and ensure the City achieves its safety, environmental and community goals. This includes maintaining air quality and cleanliness and improving the energy and environmental efficiency of the assets.
Chief Executive, Australia and New Zealand, Mr Bruce James, said today: “Transfield Services will work closely with City of Melbourne through the management of their assets to contribute to achieving their target of zero net emissions for its corporate operations by 2020 for the term of our contract.”
City of Melbourne Chief Executive Officer, Ms Kathy Alexander, said: “I congratulate Transfield Services for successfully securing the contract with the City of Melbourne and look forward to working with them during the next four years.”
* CH2 is the first building in Australia to achieve a six star rating from the Green Building Council of Australia.
