Transfield Services secures AUD900 million of contracts during the third quarter
01 April 2010
Transfield Services today confirmed that it secured more than AUD900 million of work during the third quarter of the current financial year.
A highlight for the Australia and New Zealand business was the renewal of the Woodside Energy contract by the Transfield Worley Services 50/50 joint venture. The joint venture’s AUD700 million contract extends the 15 year relationship with Woodside Energy.
The North American business continues to grow organically and into new geographic areas. During the quarter, the business secured more than AUD350 million worth of new contracts across all of its key sectors. Highlights included the Transportation Infrastructure business winning a 30-year asset management contract in Canada with the New Brunswick Highway Corporation, and the business expanding into North Carolina with a five-year road asset management contract.
The North American refinery maintenance business, TIMEC, expanded its offerings by winning a contract to provide pipeline and terminal maintenance to a key client, building on contract renewals with its top three clients during the second quarter of the 2010 financial year. The Canadian oil and gas joint venture continues to improve the efficiency of clients’ assets and is actively seeking further opportunities with current and prospective clients.
The Emerging Markets business won more than AUD40 million worth of construction, asset management and shutdown contracts with new and existing clients in the Gulf Region and Chile.
Transfield Services’ Managing Director and CEO, Dr Peter Goode, said today: “Our performance in the quarter demonstrates our ability to grow organically and to renew long-term contracts with key customers. Strategically, we will continue to grow the business within the industries and regions in which we operate by securing profitable new work with existing customers and broadening our client base.”
