Transfield Services secures US$200 million of new and renewed contracts in North America
25 August 2010
Transfield Services subsidiary, Transfield Services North America - Transportation Infrastructure (TSNA-TI), today announced it has secured preferred contractor status for a new US$172 million contract with existing client, the Ontario Ministry of Transportation.
This new 12-year contract follows the US$143 million contract secured in August 2009 and covers operations and maintenance services of roads and associated infrastructure in the Sault Ste Marie area of Ontario.
In addition, the Company has signed US$30 million worth of new and renewed work with long-term clients Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (AKDOT&PF).
The renewed seven-year, US$15 million contract with FDOT includes asset maintenance services for eight movable bridges and associated infrastructure in District Five, which includes Volusia, Flagler, Seminole, Lake and Brevard Counties.
TSNA-TI’s new five-year, US$15 million contract with AKDOT&PF will see the Company continue to provide operations and maintenance services to the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel.
Transfield Services’ Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Peter Goode, said today: “These contracts are a reflection of our clients’ confidence in our approach to asset management, which is supported by market leading technical and project expertise.”
Transfield Services provides asset management services from project start-up to roads, tunnels, bridges and associated infrastructure globally, including on Eastlink Motorway, Melbourne, Port of Miami Tunnel, Florida and the Route 1 Gateway Project in New Brunswick, Canada.
The successful securing of these contracts sustains Transfield Services’ disciplined approach to building a strong order book of long-term contracts, delivering consistency of earnings, generating solid and reliable returns.
Transfield Services provides more than 80 per cent of its services under secure, long-term asset management contracts and its overall client retention rate exceeds 95 per cent. The Company has a robust pipeline of work developing in the infrastructure and oil and gas sectors, underpinning the diversified revenue sources of the business.
