Transfield Services signs contract with Department of Immigration and Citizenship

Following its announcement on 11 September 2012, Transfield Services has formalised its contract with the Department of Immigration and Citizenship to provide facilities management and operational services to the Regional Processing Centre in Nauru.
The contract is estimated at approximately A$175 million for the initial year, with a one year extension option.
Transfield Services will continue to provide facilities management services, including the ongoing maintenance of utilities, accommodation, cooking and cleaning facilities. Operational support services include the supply of clothing, bedding and towels, catering and canteen services including food supply and cooking, and transport and security services.
There are three separate contracts at the Regional Processing Centre in Nauru:
- The Salvation Army provides case management of the clients
- International Health and Medical Services (IHMS) looks after the medical needs of the clients, and
- Transfield Services look after the facilities and provide support services (as above).
