USM is a leading provider of outsourced contractor management services in the USA. USM is represented in 50 US states, Canada and Puerto Rico.
The USM business model is centred around its unique proprietary network which manages more than 9,000 subcontractor entities, developed over the past 18 years. The subcontractor entities provide scheduled electrical, lighting and sign services, repair and disaster restoration services, as well as facility interior and exterior services across North America.
TIMEC Company, Inc. provides maintenance services to the oil and gas, petrochemical and winery industries including turnarounds and specialty services such as specialty welding, catalyst handling, training and safety support services
TIMEC services 39 of the 150 refineries in the U.S. and its strong and longstanding customer base includes some of the largest oil and gas companies in the world – including ConocoPhillips, Chevron, ExxonMobil and Shell.
Our Transportation Infrastructure business provides performance-based management, operations and maintenance services for transportation infrastructure and associated facilities across the United States from Florida to Alaska.
Since we were awarded the first performance-based contract for transportation infrastructure in the United States from the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) in 1997, we have successfully delivered roadway and facility asset management services for interstates, primaries, bridges, tunnels, toll facilities, rest areas, welcome centers, public buildings, canals, and airport infrastructure and systems.
CANADA
Transfield Services has an office in Calgary and has established a joint venture with Flint Energy Services Ltd to capture the emerging opportunities in the oil sands industry.
In 2007, joint venture company FT Services, signed an asset management services contract with Suncor Energy Inc. for the provision of asset management services at Suncor’s Fort McMurray, Alberta oil sands operations and its Sarnia, Ontario refinery operation. The five-year rolling contract is valued at Cnd$1 billion in revenue.
CHILE
Transfield Services entered the South American market in January 2008 with the 50 per cent acquisition of INSER, a leading provider of mining maintenance and capital works services in the fast-growing Chilean market.
The resulting joint venture, INSER Transfield Services, also includes subsidiary company Ingenieria, which specialises in dust and mineral extraction from mining and power waste processing.
This acquisition and entry into Chile meets Transfield Services’ global growth strategy of expanding into new markets with favourable macro-economic conditions and the opportunity to leverage global client relationships.
INSER Transfield Services has more than 1,200 employees, long term contracts with blue chip clients including BHP Billiton, Codelco and Xstrata and offices in the northern Chilean mining hubs of Antofagasta, Calama and capital Santiago.
