Our Safety Performance
We work hard to improve our best practice global safety systems and processes and to strengthen the knowledge and skills of our people. These efforts are reflected by a continuous improvement in our safety performance statistics.
In the past 12 months, we have reduced our Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate by 16.44 per cent to 1.88 per million hours worked and our Total Recordable Injury Frequency Rate by 17.95 per cent to 7.3 per million hours worked.
How we report our safety performance
We have well-developed systems, processes and metrics for reporting personal and process safety performance that support internal performance management, promote learning and enable public reporting.
Health and safety data is collected for 100% of all Transfield Services operations. We collect data for part-owned entities and joint ventures operated by others. Incidents are recorded locally by employees, contractors and management..
All serious incidents such as major spills, serious injuries, together with successful incident-free milestones, are reported to Transfield Services executive management. These events are also communicated to Transfield Services employees using our Incident Alert process, Intranet and monthly reports.
Detailed data is collected on all incidents, classified as high or extreme, using our Integrity Investigation process. Incidents which cause injury to employees are recorded and categorised in terms of severity using the US OSHA 300 Protocol.
